New York Times Bestselling Author, G.P. Taylor Releases New Graphic Novel: The Great Mogul Diamond

CAROL STREAM, IL – In an effort to reach out to reluctant readers, Tyndale House Publishers will release The Great Mogul Diamond, number three in the Dopple Ganger Chronicles, in May 2011.  Geared towards kids ages 8-12, these 4-color graphic novels, or illustranovellas, feature a creative combination of art and traditional text designed to enhance the reading experience for a visually orientated generation of kids, especially reluctant readers.

In The Great Mogul Diamond, the twins, Sadie and Saskia Dopple, and their friend Erik find themselves awhirl in a series of crimes.  The twins need to figure out who is behind this twisted plot soon or Muzz Elliott, the twins adopter, will be framed for her own greatest literary invention…the theft of the Great Mogul Diamond.  Meanwhile, Erik speeds through the countryside in an unbelievably cool car with private eye Dorcas Potts, racing the clock and attempting to outwit a gang of robbers.

Dubbed as “the new C.S. Lewis”  in the United Kingdom, Taylor has a gift for conveying the gospel message through creative storytelling.  This book introduces the Christ figure (The Man of Good-Bye Friday) for the first time.  “I am just sick of the way celebrity is changing the young people of America- they are being seduced by the desire to be “famous’ and encouraged to look for cheap fixes in their lives.  Most TV shows promote lifestyles not compliant to the gospel,” says Taylor.  “I strive to give young people positive, Christ-filled messages in my books.  The Great Mogul Diamond is no exception.”

Taylor and his Dopple Ganger series is popular with students and teachers alike.  “He has contributed in a significant way to the aspirations and literacy of our pupils; especially the reluctant male readers and our less confident special needs students,” said Ally Richards, Head of English and Assistant Head teacher, St. Wilfrids Catholic High School.  “His creativity in delivering his message has directly resulted in improved attitudes towards reading, writing and literacy in more than half of our pupils to date.”

G.P. Taylor is a motorcyclist and former rock band roadie turned Anglican minister, Graham Peter (G. P.) Taylor has been hailed as “hotter than Potter” and “the new C. S. Lewis” in the United Kingdom. His first novel, Shadowmancer, reached #1 on the New York Times Best Sellers List in 2004 and has been translated into 48 languages. His other novels include Wormwood (another New York Times best seller which was nominated for a Quill Book Award), The Shadowmancer Returns: The Curse of Salamander Street, Tersias the Oracle, and Mariah Mundi. Taylor currently resides in North Yorkshire with his wife and three children.
